Basic taxi has an on-call service that I've used quite often to bring me to the airport. Unfortunately, after several worry-free transactions, it failed in providing me the right service the last time I called.
The taxi did not arrive, and when I texted their mobile they stopped responding. I almost missed my morning flight because of what happened.
Great! Now I have to find another taxi service.

The DFA Purgatory
For the past few weeks I've been working on renewing my passport. It was indeed a hassle but not as terrible as it should be.
Things I've learned:
1. It is better to go through the online portal: http://www.teleserv.ph/
2. If you really want to do a walk-in, be around the DFA area before 6AM.
3. Prepare all the required documents/materials. Photos and photocopies are *way* more expensive when taken in the shops around the DFA office.
4. A lot of people still want to leave the country - Qatar and Dubai are now the main destinations.
Directions to DFA:
1. Get off the Libertad LRT-1 station
2. Ride a tricycle to the DFA :D

Airport Yellow Taxi Eperience
I have been travelling a lot recently and in the process have had to take the services of many a taxi in and out of the airport. I had heard rumors before that some of the airport taxis (prominently Yellow colored, premium price: costs twice as much as a regular taxi ride) had their meters rigged. I did not believe those rumors immediately since I have been patronizing the airport taxi service for a while and had no problems...until recently. What happened was that my fare from the airport to my home more than DOUBLED (yes, so basically it cost about FOUR times as much as a regular taxi ride since the airport taxi as I've mentioned has a premium). I checked the receipt and it seems the meter registered almost twice the distance of the route we took (note: we took the same route I went through in my previous rides). Sheeesshh...it grosses me out when some people resort to trickery to earn a living.
